Candy Canemopolitans

Candy Canemopolitans

No.I`m not nuts!
Just in case this crossed your mind while reading the title of this blog post. But let me explain.

Two weeks ago I talked to you about the Christmas feast with my friends, that I hosted at my house. For this very day,I wanted to serve cute Christmas inspired cocktails. As I always wanted to make Cosmopolitans I found my cocktail very quick!Browsing the Internet for inspiration,I found a recipe for White Cosmopolitans from Martha Stewart.I got hooked up with this idea! They just were perfect,as they reminded me of snow.So I really wanted to try this cocktail!

Very quickly I got a reality check by finding out that white cranberry juice, which is required for this recipe, isn`t that easy to find where I live. With the short amount of time left to plan everything,I had to improvise.

Cosmopolitans with candy canes

This is what I came up with: Candy Canemopolitans
Or as I actually called them Christmas Cosmopolitans, but as Christmas already passed,I think Candy Canemopolitans is a better fit!

Here`s what you need for the Candy Canemopolitans (3-4 servings):

  • 2 ounces Cointreau
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 5 ounces lemon soda
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • 4 candy canes
  • ice cubes

Christmas Cosmopolitans

Mix it all together, pour it in a glass filled with lots of ice cubes and hang a candy cane on every glass.
I made my drink with peppermint canes in mind and so I was convinced, till I tried the drink and found out it were cinnamon canes! But it was delicious anyway!
Of course you can vary the amount of the different ingredients as you like and maybe you want to crush your candy canes and make a cute decor on your glass, like Elsie did.

winterly inspired cosmopolitans

You see, this is very easy and quick, perfect for drink mixing starters like me.

For the base of my Candy Canemopolitanes I used this recipe, just in case anyone wants to try classic Cosmopolitans.
And please,if someone knows where I can get white cranberry juice,I beg you to tell me!

xoxo
